Foundation for Flourishing – Keystone Behaviors
BPO leadership transcends beyond mere management of resources and processes and must pivot to creating a culture of accountability, fostering innovation, and driving transformation. To fortify these key behaviors, I assign distinctive catchphrases to remind our global teams of our keystone behaviors.
These catchphrases or memorable maxims, serve a dual purpose - they act as signals that bridge the gap between our present actions and future aspirations and act as verbal guideposts that illuminate our key behaviors and provide clear reminders of behavior during our journey.
Here are some keystone behaviors and illustrative metaphors that can be used as a beacon to navigate YOUR journey.
Courage:
Embracing the Fear of Mediocrity
Be a lion, not a deer, in the face of challenges
She was intimidated by the fear of being average
Motivation:
When opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door
Turn lemons into Limoncello
Be the ant that moves that rubber tree plant
Go where no one has gone before
The early bird gets the worm but the 2nd mouse gets the cheese
Speed:
One today is worth two tomorrows
Someday is not a day of the week
Yesterday’s home runs don’t win today’s games
Good is the enemy of great
Value of Simplicity
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Leonardo da Vinci
You can’t beat simple
I didn't know how to do fancy
Concluding Wisdom: Remember, these are not just behaviors, but verbal beacons that guide your team towards a transformative future. These catchphrases create a link between the present moment and a your future ideal. Use them to spotlight the intended behavior and provide clear directions at the checkpoints along the way.
